Attorney Profile: Jamiyl Shabrami, Esq.
Jamiyl “Jay” Shabrami is the founder of Shabrami Law and has over 20 years of experience exclusively defending employers, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation matters throughout California. He aggressively litigates injury claims through all stages of workers’ compensation proceedings, including trial and appellate matters before the WCAB.
Mr. Shabrami has extensive experience handling a wide range of workers' compensation claims and has achieved numerous favorable outcomes at both the trial and appellate levels. He is known for his strategic case evaluation, thorough preparation, and disciplined advocacy. His practice emphasizes expeditious, cost-effective, and fair resolution of claims while protecting the interests of his clients.
In addition to litigation, Mr. Shabrami values the day-to-day interaction with clients, opposing counsel, medical professionals, judges, and injured workers that allows cases to move efficiently through the system. Mr. Shabrami earned his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2005 after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and earning summa cum laude in 2001. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006.
Prior to founding Shabrami Law in July 2017, Mr. Shabrami served as an Attorney Advisor for the U.S. Small Business Administration from 2006 to 2007. He then practiced with 2 large defense firms, where he sharpened his skills from 2008 through 2017, becoming a partner in 2014. His experience has shaped his practical, business-minded approach to workers’ compensation defense.
During his free time, Mr. Shabrami loves spending time with his two young children, Kami, and Ava, and his wonderful wife, Kiana, who also practices workers' compensation defense in-house for a highly reputable insurance company. He likes to mountain bike and golf, when his schedule permits.
